Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Local storage works much the same way, inside your browser. This policy covers both, and we call them all "cookies" below.

2. Cookies SyncWave needs

These make the service you ask for work: being in a room, staying signed in, remembering your choices and applying an invitation you followed. They do not need your consent. SyncWave uses no other cookies of its own.

NameWhat it doesHow long
sb-…-auth-tokenKeeps your session, with or without an account, so you stay in your rooms and signed in. Local storage, and a cookie once you sign in.Until you sign out
NEXT_LOCALERemembers the language you picked.Session
sw_refThe invitation code of the link you opened, so the friend who invited you and you get the invitation reward. Only our server can read it.90 days
sw_ref_seenLets the join screen say you were invited. It holds no code.90 days
syncwave-after-confirmWhere to take you back after you confirm your email. Local storage.Until used
announcement:referrals, referrals:seen-qualified, banner:…Remembers notices you have closed or already seen. Local storage.Until you clear your browser

Earlier versions of SyncWave also stored syncwave-cookie-consent and syncwave-analytics-consent, your answer to a cookie banner we no longer show. They are no longer read and you can delete them.

3. Visit statistics, without cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and pages, so we know what to improve. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Each visit is counted with a code computed from the request, which Vercel discards after 24 hours, and we only see totals: pages, where visits come from, country, browser and device type. Invitation codes are removed from the addresses before they are counted. The statistics cannot be linked to you; more in the Privacy Policy.

4. Third-party cookies

Some services we rely on set their own cookies, under their own policies:

We cannot read or delete these cookies; your browser settings can.

5. How to control cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the necessary ones will stop SyncWave from working properly.

6. Changes to this policy

If we start using new cookies we will update this page and its date. If they need your consent, we will ask for it before using them.
